Default First week of December brood

Due to large number of fry, hence high food competition, fry are quite small.

When in breeding condition the males develop tiny white tubers on the gill plates. The females get noticeably fatter. I have spawned and raised at least 6 varieties od goldfish over the past 60 years. I presently have a pond with Bristol Shubunkins. They were almost out of hibernation a week ago.

I am wondering how can I tell if a gold fish is carrying eggs in her stomach?
Also when should I used the hand breeding metheod?
My other questions is if the female actually laid eggs in the bare buttom tank with the other fishes in it and if I happen to see it laying eggs what should I do to saved the eggs?
These Ryunkin are mature 1 year old about 6" jumbo size and I was told they will start to breed soon I am gathering advices so I can prepared myself when the time come.
I would love more details explaination to eduacate myself in keeping goldfish
I know a lot about breeding clownfishes but I dont know a whole lot about goldfish breeding. This new goldfish hobby started all of a sudden for me ,when someone post about goldfish breeding.
Thanks
